Since its inception, the DMASA’s Assegai Integrated Marketing Awards has recognised and rewarded excellence in all spheres of Direct Marketing. Just as Assegai spear is aimed carefully and with precision at its prey with one singular purpose, so too does good direct marketing mark its target.
This year – its number 15 on the Direct Marketing Landscape- brings with it new energy and lots of change. We have refined various touch points for our awards journey and are looking forward to bringing an upbeat and spectacular Gala Evening. This platform will allow us to remain focussed on the true nature of the Assegai Awards – acknowledging breakthrough strategies, creative brilliance and outstanding results in all direct marketing media.
We have now 39 categories, including mobile marketing, digital marketing, direct response marketing in all media, activations, e-commerce and postal direct marketing. The key today for direct marketing is that it is data-driven and has measurable results. It is in essence effective marketing, and this is emphasised in the judging of the Awards.
At the Direct Marketing Association of Southern Africa, our focus remains to facilitate both knowledge and professional development opportunities in the industry. The Assegai Awards remain pivotal in delivering on this mandate.
Each year the awards attract a growing number of entries, proof of its relevance and respect as a benchmark of direct excellence by agencies, corporate brands, NGOs, government departments and more.
