Bibi Lotter 25The Apex Awards, synonymous with strategic and creative effectiveness, has invited a Y&R representative to join the judging panel for the second consecutive year. Bibi Lötter, Y&R Johannesburg Creative Director has accepted the invitation to sit on the 2013 jury, delighted to be considered amongst the industry mix.

As the only South African entity to reward effective communication campaigns based on evidence of efficacy, the Apex Awards hold a certain prestige that is further affirmed by a rigorous adjudication process. The standard is very high and it has been made clear that the awards programme will not hand out awards for the sake of awarding trophies.

Odette van der Haar, CEO of the ACA (Association for Communication and Advertising), organiser and host of the awards, was quoted saying, “it’s important to remember that it is not easy to win an APEX Award. The adjudication panel consists of a mix of esteemed and highly experienced marketers and researchers, as well as ad executives and creatives who compare entries against stringent criteria.”

It’s a proud moment for Y&R to be part of this jury, especially as a follow up to the agency’s involvement last year, when Johannesburg’s then managing director and executive creative director, Melanie Behan and Rui Alves respectively, participated.
