Angola-born Cristina has worked on the largest and most iconic brands in South Africa as well as abroad over the last 26 years, where her portfolio includes an impressive list of clients such as Unilever, Procter & Gamble, MINI and Famous Brands.
Cristina joined Y&R towards the end of 2013 after previously completing a seven-year tenure as Strategic Media Director at SA’s largest media agency, OMD, in Durban. It was here she first worked with the Willowton group, one of Y&R’s biggest Durban clients, and is now dealing with them closely from agency side. As one of her first big projects, Cristina is especially looking forward to working on strategy implementation for the group and their partner, The Sunfoil Dolphins, as the team gets ready for the new cricket season.
“We are delighted to have a media strategist of Cristina’s calibre in-house,” says Lindsay Leppan, managing director of Y&R South Africa’s Durban office. “Although she is specifically focusing on business in the region, our intention is to expand our Strategy & Planning portfolio across all the Y&R South Africa offices in the very near future.”
As an elder in the media industry, Cristina is passionate about upskilling and is involved with consulting projects whenever possible. She is also a dedicated member of the Advertising Benevolent Fund (ABF), and involved with the arrangement of the annual charity ball for the Durban chapter of the organisation.
