Exciting new Edgars portfolio structure at John Brown Media
With 28 issues of South Africa’s most widely-read fashion and beauty magazine under her belt, it’s with great excitement that current editor Justine Stafford is promoted to content director for Edgars. As of September 2013, Justine will take on her new role managing the Edgars portfolio which includes overseeing and strategically driving Edgars Club magazine and associated projects. In the same month, Emma Wright joins the John Brown Media team and takes over the reigns as editor on Edgars Club with December/January her first issue at the helm.
“The new Edgars team structure will enable us to deliver an even better, more strategic and focussed approach to servicing the Edgars business portfolio. The digital and print teams have delivered consistently outstanding work and we have no doubt with Justine at the helm and Emma as editor, the portfolio will continue to grow from strength to strength,” commented Lani Carstens, MD of John Brown Media.
Under Justine’s guidance, the Edgars business unit has experienced rapid growth. Initially John Brown Media were contracted to publish the monthly magazine (Edgars Club), Edgars Man supplement, an e-zine and a few supplements. This has grown to include non-Edgars Club projects, store merchandising, the Edgars Club website, social media management for international brands and most recently, the internal staff magazine for the Edcon Group.
As she takes on the role as editor, Emma brings to the team over 15 years of experience as a curator, editor and creative strategist, having worked on major titles and being widely published both locally and abroad. Her background ranges from project directing and curating the first Design Indaba Expo; holding editorships at Cape Etc and Wedding Album magazines; launching UK-based Exit magazine and receiving a coveted PICA Award for Best Visual Production.
