Y&R South Africa is beaming after it was recently announced that the agency won the Sunfoil Cricket Activation side of The Willowton Group Business after a combined pitch effort between the Durban and Johannesburg offices. This activation includes managing stadium events for the Sunfoil Test Series in December 2014 against the West Indies, and the upcoming tour of England in 2015.
“Although the Sunfoil and Sunfoil Dolphins brands are existing accounts of Y&R South Africa’s Durban office, the actual stadium events and activities have always been handled by specialised sports activation companies,” says Lindsay Leppan, Managing Director of the Durban office. “Winning the Sunfoil Activation pitch demonstrates that we have a holistic understanding of the brand, its target market and how the love of cricket is deeply entrenched in both.”
The Sunfoil Dolphins team won the T20 domestic series in 2014 for the first time, and Y&R South Africa’s Durban office is already gearing up to build on this momentum with the upcoming media event that will launch the 2014/2015 season, and to bid farewell to the team ahead of their trip to the CLT20 Champions League in India.
