Draftfcb Cape Town took home one of South Africa’s first Lions on Monday night (June 17) at Cannes. The World’s Smallest Big Idea for client Vital Health Foods and brand Viral Boost won its a Bronze Lion.

Closer to home, Draftfcb Johannesburg has scooped two of the only nine Apex Awards made mid-June (June 13, 2013). The agency won a Silver Apex in the Change category for SARS as well as a Bronze Apex in the Sustain category for Hilux.

Hosted by the Association for Communication & Advertising (ACA) every two years, the Apex Awards recognise effectiveness and entrants are required to prove that their campaigns achieved performance excellence by contributing a measured return to their client’s bottom line.

Draftfcb Group Strategic Director, Rita Doherty, applauded the agency’s achievement, saying that both campaigns had worked exceptionally well for the clients concerned.

“It is gratifying to have won for both these clients – Toyota SA as a long-standing partner, and SARS as a relatively new one – proving once again that Draftfcb not only creates advertising that talks to the hearts and minds of all South Africans it does so in a manner that ensures business success for its clients.”

No Grand Prix was named at the Apex Awards, and only 9 Awards – 2 Golds, 2 Silvers and 5 Bronzes – were awarded.
