Witty campaign for Toyota 86 leverages instant messaging to demonstrate speed

A witty online and print campaign from FCB Joburg for Toyota 86, the sports car jointly developed by Toyota and Subaru, leverages instant message chat to demonstrate the vehicle’s racy urban prowess and drive home its pay-off line, ‘go Play’.

Each execution features a scenario in which the 86 driver needed to get somewhere – and fast – so that he could ‘go play’. The scenarios range across various interests, depending on the people Toyota wants to target, but all have the same ending: the 86 driver arrives at the desired destination before the chat is over messaging his friend ‘I’m outside’.
