The article highlights today’s strategic landscape and how good strategy is more important than ever. It also explains that, “achieving real impact today requires strategists to stretch beyond strategic planning to develop at least one of a few signature strengths”. This means diversifying strategic responsibilities to identify business-development opportunities, and create branded insights on the basis of external forces at work and long-term market trends.
Sampa Diseko is not short of any signature strengths and has spent her entire career ‘stretching’. She understands the importance of relevant and impactful marketing for both business and brands that need to thrive in a changing market place. She studied an MBA at the Gordon Institute Of Business (GIBS), where she completed a thesis on ‘Nostalgic Branding’. She then moved into consulting in business development for companies wishing to expand into the African continent. She’s an experienced marketing and brand manager having worked on client side for over eight years in a wide variety of areas from research, product development, strategy to brand and project management. She possesses creative flair and business acumen, which have moulded her well-rounded skillset, not only to match her genuine interest, but her personality too. Sampa will be based in the Johannesburg agency.
In in the Cape Town agency, the seasoned Christo Nel joined Team Pick n Pay’s creative leadership as the associate executive creative director (ECD). He boasts 25 years experience in advertising as a copywriter, creative director, and executive creative director. This includes working strategically and creatively, amongst others, on the Shoprite account for five years and as a result, Christo is well-versed in retail. He has partnered with the renowned Kassie Naidoo, who has been with the agency since 2012 as ECD on Pick n Pay. Christo is business-minded and strategically driven and describes himself as an idea-driven person, solving business problems creatively as a business partner, not simply as a supplier. His approach and personality underpins the agency’s efforts to be our client’s valued partner.
